Mark Stevens began his career in the building industry in London  in 1980 where  he was principally involved with extensions and renovations to townhouses  and  historic character homes which required specialty, detailed finishing work.. Mark also gained skills in other trades including brickwork and plastering and is willing to turn his hand to anything. Mark enjoys challenging projects and thrives on the pressure of quick timelines and projects with a difference. Mark joined Alexander Construction after arriving in New Zealand in 2004. Working on interesting projects such as Vidals Winery Kitchen Refurbishment, Kaweka Foods & Production Factory and an underground services tunnel  lead Mark to head to Tokamaru Bay to build  the new Fire Station for the NZ Fire Service.. In 2009 Mark took the opportunity to become a shareholder.
